From Tbilisi to the heart of Khevsuretia

1 day.

08:00 – Departure from Tbilisi

We begin our journey along a scenic road passing through gorges and mountain passes. Stop at the Zhinvali reservoir. A short photo break by a turquoise lake surrounded by green hills. 

Datvisjvari Pass crossing (2,676 m) One of the highest automobile passes in Georgia with spectacular views of the Caucasian peaks. 

Arrival in Shatili and get acquainted with the unique architecture of the tower settlement. Shatili is a real living museum, where defensive towers built of wild stone still stand. 

Then dinner and overnight at a guest house in Shatili Home cooking, comfort and silence of the mountain region. Chatting by the campfire with a view of the ancient towers.

Day 2.

Breakfast at the guest house Georgian breakfast with mountain views and refreshing fresh air. 

A trip to Mutso through the Ardot gorge The path to another ancient fortress, partially carved into the rocks.

Mutso is a mysterious and sparsely populated place where antiquity can be felt in every wall.

Walking tour and guided tour of Mutso. Narrow trails, ancient tombstones, stunning views of the gorges. 

Lunch-picnic or lunch at the local place. 

Simple but delicious food set against the backdrop of the Caucasian nature. 

Return trip to Tbilisi via Datvisjvari pass Returning along an already familiar but still exciting road.
