The city of Gori. One of the main attractions of Gori is the complex of the State Museum of I.V. Stalin - a huge palace in the original Gothic style. This is the Stalin House Museum, built in the 50s of the last century. The museum was built next to the house in which the great I.V. Stalin was born on December 21, 1879 in the family of shoemaker Vissarion Dzhugashvili. The Stalin Museum is dedicated to all aspects of the life of the famous leader. The museum contains the leader's archives, including children's and youth poems. Gifts to Stalin are collected in a separate room. Everywhere there are busts of Stalin made of stone, wood, plaster. A special exhibit is Stalin's personal armored comfortable carriage with a luxurious interior for that time: Venetian glass mirrors, carved furniture.
Everything is as it was during Stalin's life: an office with a desk, telephone and sofa, a bathroom, a guard compartment.
Uplistsikhe, a city in the rock - Translated, "Uplistsikhe" means "the ruler's fortress", and for good reason: the walls and ceiling are pompously decorated with beams, plinths and columns, and the main part of the city used to be inhabited by the rich, nobles and clergy.
Uplistsikhe literally means "the ruler's fortress" - a city carved into the rock, one of the oldest settlements in the Caucasus and an urban center. It is located in Shida Kartli, 10 km east of Gori, on the left bank of the Mtkvari River. Currently, it is the Uplistsikhe Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve. The city has streets, squares, a water drainage system, four outposts, a secret tunnel leading to the Mtkvari River, a fence, etc.
Today it is considered an open-air museum. Written sources first mention it in the 7th century. A group of archaeological and architectural monuments have been preserved in Uplistsikhe and its environs, most of which are from the ancient Bronze Age and belong to the Kura-Araxes culture (fortress in Lashetkhevi, Gudabertka, Gori). At the end of the Middle Bronze Age, the lower layer of the mountain and the settlement of Katlanikhevi.
The Chronicle of Georgia monument, known as the Georgian history complex or the Georgian Stonehenge. The monument is located on Mount Keeni (Kenisi) near the Tbilisi Sea, in the Nadzaladevi area of Temka. It is dedicated to the history of Georgia and the role of Christianity in the country. The mountain offers stunning views of the Tbilisi Sea and Soviet-era architecture. Here you can enjoy peace, quiet and a stunning sunset. The Chronicle of Georgia monument was created by the famous sculptor, artist and architect Zurab Tsereteli.
